A big five-pointed star fills the middle of the page, each point split down the centre into two facets, with rays and a scatter of small stars and dots around it. Those facets are the whole trick: color one half of each point light and the other half a shade darker, and the flat star turns three-dimensional. The star on top of the tree stands for the Star of Bethlehem, which in the Gospel of Matthew guides the wise men to the newborn Jesus. The Christmas angel playing a trumpet goes well beside it, gold for gold.
How to color Big faceted star with sparkles
- Yellow on one half of each point and gold on the other, always on the same side.
- Pale yellow for the rays around the star.
- Leave the background white, or color it dark blue so the small stars glow.
