Santa and Mrs Claus decorate a tree with baubles and a garland.
Mrs Claus and Santa trimming a tree with beads and baubles
- Difficulty Challenging
- Age 6 years and up
- Time 30-40 min
Santa and Mrs Claus stand on each side of a Christmas tree, hanging round baubles and a long garland of beads, with a star at the top and smaller stars on the branches. The tree carries a lot of small shapes, so pick three bauble colors and repeat them rather than a new one each time; the tree looks decorated, not muddled. Mrs Claus came into the story later than her husband, and Katharine Lee Bates, who wrote America the Beautiful, gave her a poem of her own in 1889. Santa reading a story is another quiet evening at home.
How to color Mrs Claus and Santa trimming a tree with beads and baubles
- Green for the tree, a shade darker at the tips of the branches.
- Three colors for the baubles, repeated round the tree, and gold for the star.
- Red for both outfits, with a different color for Mrs Claus's apron or dress if you like.
